The 33-year-old had been gradually returning to full team training this summer but missed pre-season matches due to recurring injuries and inconsistent fitness levels. This latest injury is a significant blow for both Pogba and the club.

Pogba joined Monaco on a free transfer in June 2025, signing a two-year contract until June 2027. However, he has only made six appearances for the team so far, totaling just 115 minutes of playing time. In September 2023, he was banned after testing positive for the prohibited substance DHE and had been away from the pitch for a long period since then.
